The Lost Story
The Lost Story is a surreal fiction book that I co-authored with my close friend, Sudhanshu Gupta. The idea emerged from our creative experiment—one of us would write the first half of a story, while the other would complete it, often steering the plot in unexpected directions.
As our collection grew, we decided to compile these stories into a book. However, during the process, the concept evolved further. What began as a collection of standalone short stories gradually transformed into a single, interconnected narrative—an overarching plot that bound them all together.
The title, The Lost Story, belongs to the protagonist of the book—a once-celebrated author now swallowed by obscurity, battling ghosts of his past and paralyzed by the unknown waiting behind a door in his home, locked for years. Fear, memory, and mystery converge as he confronts what he thought was lost forever.
We began writing The Lost Story in 2010 during our free time, and in 2012, we published the book. To our delight, it resonated with readers and sold over 10,000 copies.
